Latius R. Prikryl

Latius, a Bartlett, Texas native with a strong farming and agricultural heritage, is a graduate of Temple College (AA), The University of Texas at Austin (BA), St. Mary’s School of Law (JD), and Southern Methodist University School of Law (LLM). Latius has practiced law in Austin, Texas for 39 years and supports several Austin area charities and foundations through donations of his time, efforts, and expertise. These include serving as a Director of the Lonestar Cattlemen Foundation, as a Texas State Bar Foundation Fellow, 30 years as a Director of the Star of Texas Fair & Rodeo, and active in the Austin Bar Foundation, Chancellor’s Council of The University of Texas and having served on various American Bar Association and Texas State Bar Committees. Latius firmly believes in educating our youth and providing opportunities for them to grow in education and responsibility.

Latius has an active general real estate, partnership, corporate business law, and wills and probate legal practice. He has represented private utilities, mortgage companies, construction and real estate development companies, international geophysical equipment designers and manufacturers, computer software designers, computer peripherals manufacturers, oil products resellers, various professional service providers, publishers and individuals in general business matters and estate managing. In addition to his law practice, Latius is actively involved in the transportation business with the different Statewide Materials Transportation entities, quarry interest and mortgage software business. Latius is also involved in agriculture with his family farm that straddles the Bell and Williamson county line.

Latius resides in Austin. In his spare time, he follows college sports and participates in outdoor recreational activities. He is the father of two children, a son and a daughter, who are graduates of The University of Texas and Texas Tech University, respectively.
